Innovating Gear Oil Packaging
A Creative Collaboration with Valvoline
Valvoline partnered with Hammer Packaging (acquired by Fort Dearborn in 2021, later acquired by MCC Label) to improve gear oil packaging. The goal was to create a flexible pouch that allowed easy application in tight spaces while reducing spills and waste.
I led the visual design for a 2-page promotional PDF that highlighted the benefits of the new packaging solution. The piece was distributed online and via email to current and prospective customers, demonstrating the impact of this user-friendly innovation.

Designing for Better Packaging Experiences
Promotional Design, Visual Communication, and Brand Integration
I designed a clean, visually engaging layout that clearly conveyed the advantages of the flexible pouch. Key points—flexibility, ease of use, and waste reduction—were emphasized with bold typography, clear visuals, and digestible content sections.
The design integrated both Hammer Packaging and Valvoline branding, creating a cohesive look while highlighting the collaboration. Images and diagrams were carefully selected to showcase practical benefits, making the PDF both informative and visually compelling.
The 2-page PDF successfully generated excitement around the packaging transition and served as an effective promotional tool, reinforcing Valvoline and Hammer Packaging’s commitment to innovation and customer experience.
