Dennis Bzduch

Memorial Golf Tournament

Project Name:
Memorial Golf Tournament Branding

Role:
Brand & Logo Designer

Timeline:
1 month

Project Overview:

When Wendy Bzduch approached me to design a logo for the Dennis Bzduch Memorial Golf Tournament, I collaborated closely with her and her daughter to create an identity that honored Dennis’s legacy while capturing the spirit of the event and its community.

The final logo blends core elements of the tournament—golf imagery and the town’s iconic sea serpent mascot—resulting in a bold, memorable mark designed to resonate with participants and supporters.

The Challenge:

The tournament needed a logo that both celebrated Dennis’s legacy and reflected the event’s community-focused, fun-spirited nature. The mark also had to work across multiple formats, from digital to print to embroidered merchandise, without losing impact.

Design Approach:

  • Started with hand-drawn sketches to refine the sea serpent’s form and overall composition.

  • Digitally built the final logo incorporating a central golf ball, crossed clubs, and the tournament name for a cohesive, balanced emblem.

  • Executed entirely in vector format to ensure flexibility across applications, color adjustments, and sizing.

  • Developed an alternate simplified version optimized for embroidery on hats and other merchandise, maintaining clarity and impact in smaller or constrained formats.

Outcome & Impact:

  • Delivered a meaningful, visually striking logo that honors Dennis’s legacy.

  • Created a flexible branding system that works across digital, print, and physical merchandise.

  • Strengthened the tournament’s identity and recognition among participants, sponsors, and the local community.
